Waist Trainers – Are They Right For You?

A waist trainer, sometimes referred to as a binder, is a garment similar to a waist cincher. The waist trainer tightens a person’s midsection from below, as opposed to above. The whole idea behind a waist trainer, essentially, is that the tightening action will give the wearer a slimmer, smaller waistline. This is achieved by constricting the waist and then lifting the torso up a bit at the top, creating space between the constricted waist and the top of one’s torso. The lifting action will cause the waist to rise to the new position.

There are many different types of waist trainers. They come in many different styles and designs. Some are sheer in nature and others feature corsets. Many feature other materials, such as leather or vinyl. Hourglass figures tend to love waist trainers as they give the hourglass figure a nice, streamlined silhouette and make it appear as though they have a slim waistline.

A waist trainer helps people achieve their goal of looking slimmer. For some people this goal is met simply by losing a few inches. For others though, this goal may be more complex. A waist trainer can help someone to lose weight in a more aesthetically appealing way.

Waist trainers are not usually recommended for the long term. When exercising regularly, your waistline should eventually return to its natural state. This process may take months or years. With a waist trainer however, the effects may start to show immediately. Some of these effects are harder to notice than others. However, they can be especially satisfying when you see the results of what you have been doing wrong.

One way to see immediate results is to wear a waist trainer while you are exercising. By making small movements with your arms and waist each day, small differences will start to become apparent. The next day you will find that your belly button feels a little firmer. Over the next few weeks and months, these changes will become more pronounced. By keeping to your exercise program and wearing the waist trainer on a daily basis, your stomach will eventually regain its former flat appearance and your organs will once again have the opportunity to function properly.

Some people worry that wearing a waist trainer will restrict breathing. This is never an issue as trainers do not restrict airflow through the tubes that are connected to the ribs. By wearing a trainer, you simply move around and this expansion of the chest cavity occurs naturally. As long as you are careful to keep your hands away from your ribs, the expansion of the chest cavity occurs without you even being aware of it. If anything, the expansion will feel a little uncomfortable as the ribcage expands.

A final concern some people have relates to the negative impact that wearing waist trainers can have on your body shape. Specifically, many people fear that by wearing such a device you will be turning their already tiny waist into a much larger one. While this may seem like an exaggeration, it is important to remember that waist trainers were invented in order to help those with a pear-shaped body shape. In other words, you are not turning your body into a pear; rather, you are simply making it easier for your body to be shaped in a pear shape. By wearing waist trainers, you are simply improving upon the current shape of your body and making it a little bit more proportional to your height.

Overall, there is absolutely no reason that you should not wear a waist trainer while you perform any form of cardiovascular exercise. This device allows you to tighten your abdominal muscles so that they are more effective at helping to strengthen your heart. In fact, by performing exercises with a waist trainer you can actually strengthen your pelvic floor muscles which are essential for proper breathing while you exercise.
